We bought this little cabinet on craigslist a few weeks ago for $40. You may recognize the paint color from here. With so much of the West Coast Gray sitting in the storage room, my conscience wouldn’t allow me to buy a new color. But I think I like the color much more in the bedroom. I could always repaint it. Maybe I should get the paint re-tinted so it doesn’t go to waste. What do you think? I’d love some input.
It’ll have to do for now. Here it is with the records and player (it fits Ryan’s thinned-out record collection perfectly).

Have a good weekend!
About
Britt McMaster is addicted to cucumbers. She and her husband, Ryan, live and work in a tiny apartment in downtown Vancouver, BC. Both Ryan and Britt love to write lists of all their ideas on action sheets, and they have pages and pages. They write especially quickly after they've each had a dry cappuccino or two. Most of those fanciful ideas will stay on paper, but Cucumbersome is Britt's platform to try some out.

Looks fabulous!
Wow! Didn’t even notice the neat detail before. It’s so pretty that it’s hard to imagine you changing the color at all. Excellent!
p.s. are the feet painted as well, or do you have some other tip for banishing the brass tip?
I want! Seriously, looks great.
This is rad! Did you guys change the color on the feet of the legs too? They kinda looked bronze in the before pics, and silvery in the after. Looks good, and I need me something similar BAD.
Thank you, everyone!
I was wondering if anyone would notice the feet. The brass finish actually just sanded off, which was a nice surprise. I was going to paint right over it originally.
love love love this!
i bought an old {brand new} record player for my husband for his birthday. we both have a pretty big collection of vinyl. this would be great for our player and records. it’s nice to see you can take such an otherwise shabby piece that has great bones and can make it into something new and so fabulous! now i will be on the lookout for such things.
The cabinet is much nicer with its new coat of paint. However since the doors are so simple you could break up the expanse of gray with some bold graphic stencil, or decopaged image(s) that would relate to the either where the cabinet is in its surroundings or what it does. Just a thought. However, for a functional piece it looks like it just suits your needs to a T.
