I just found an article on Apartment Therapy about <a href="http://www.apartmenttherapy.com/sf/inspiration/roundup-closet-bedrooms-on-at-041105" rel="nofollow">closet bedrooms</a>. Who knew it was a common thing to do?

Wow, wow!! I always want to change rooms from what they are to something totally different. And, its true, you can change it back if it drives you crazy, but the office being in an enclosed space would be great. You could actually stop work, leave the office, and come home. I wish I could help, as you probably know.

I needed a little push but I think we are going to try it. I'll post pictures when it's done.
Thanks, everyone!
Catherine S - I will definitely check out that book, thanks. Sounds fantastic.

Do it! it's a fantastic idea. I can picture your new office with the great natural light coming in through the frosted glass, and your cozy, intimate bedroom. You'll be able to close the door on the 'office' and any craft mess, and you'll sleep better. So many benefits.

I think it looks like a great use of space. I would definitely compromise on having a smaller bedroom in order to have a larger office/art space. It seems like a more prouctive use of space. I think the layout of the living area is much better as well, but it depends on how much entertaining you do as well. If you give it a try, let us know how it goes.

Hey Britt,

Love your site. Especially the tutorials.
The apt. changes are a great idea. Go for it.
Imagine 4 walls of ideas in office.
Better night sleep in bedroom.
If foot of bed has to face doorway, hang a soothing piece of fabric.
Show us the pics when your done.
Sweet dreams.

you MUST check out the book [Apartment Therapy Presents: Real Homes, Real People, Hundreds of Design Solutions] from the library or your local bookstore (on amazon here - http://www.amazon.com/Apartment-Therapy-Presents-Hundreds-Solutions/dp/0811859827). TONS and TONS of ideas on featured folks in tiny spaces - very inventive and gorgeous layouts & writeups - some under 600 sq ft!

i'm sure you're aware of their site/blog - http://www.apartmenttherapy.com - check it out - they have really great features and also a home tours section.

best of luck - i admire those who can get their belongings to fit and then look great in limited spaces - it's a true art!
